Science Is an Art: Celebrating Creativity in Research
This year’s competition drew 18 stunning submissions, each transforming complex research concepts into captivating visual art—from micrographs and renderings to illustrations and scientific photography. Faculty, staff and peers judged each piece based on creativity, communication and visual impact.
We’re proud to showcase the top three entries for 2025:
Bloom of the Human Gut Assembloids-on-a-Chip submitted by Jong-Keun Sim.
The Little Embryo submitted by Agnes Doszpoly
A Purdue Logo submitted by Van Thuy Duong
Each winning piece will be displayed on the walls of MJIS in West Lafayette and SL220 in Indianapolis, serving as a daily reminder that scientific discovery is as much about imagination as it is about precision. Every submission is also featured in a printed Art in Research book, and all entries are available to view online.
